2024 Best Sights Around Orlando Florida

Walt Disney World Orlando

 Intro

When people hear about the city of Orlando, they think of Disney World and theme parks such as Animal Kingdom and Epcot. What people don’t realize is how much more the city has to offer in addition to being the most magical place on earth. It is filled with art, culture, nature, and some of the best restaurants around, sure to delight young and old alike.

What also makes Orlando great is it is smack dab in the middle of the state, allowing locals and tourists alike to visit some of the most beautiful beaches in the country in under two-hours. Here's the thing, Florida is known as the sunshine state, but unexpected rainstorms are a common occurrence in Florida during Hurricane Season (which is May through November, so yeah like half the year). Six months of out-of-the-blue rain storms. These storms come out of the clear blue sky (literally), and they are usually intense rain storms for like an hour or two, with loud thunder and bolts of lightning (that’s where the hockey team got its name) and then it goes back to a sunny day, like nothing happened. If you’re coming during the hurricane season months, you must prepare for that and the heat/humidity. What is great about Orlando is there is also a ton of indoor activities kids and adults will love. Another positive note to all that negative weather talk I just mentioned, during the rainy season you usually can get sweet hotel discounts and cheap flights being how uncomfortable it is to do just about anything that does not include excessive air conditioning.

Occasionally, it will rain in the morning during this time, but usually the rainstorms come somewhere between 1-5pm. What I would recommend, is to get to the theme parks as early as they open to beat the Florida heat, the crowds, and get your fill before getting rained on. If you are not afraid of a little rain (sometimes a lot of rain) and inclement weather and decided on an Orlando vacation during the summer months, below are some fun things to do indoors if you encounter a rainy day.

Universal Studios Orlando

Epcot Orlando

SeaWorld Orlando

Animal Kingdom Orlando

Conclusion

I hope you have enjoyed learning a little more on what Orlando, Florida has to offer or at the very least refreshing your memory and sparking a desire to visit the Magic City again soon.

Whether optimal weather or budget friendly is your focus, you will never be at a shortage in Orlando for indoor or outdoor activities to entertain the whole family.
