2024 Best Travel Benefits From a AAA Membership

Intro
So many people such as myself have a AAA Membership but have barely scraped away at all the benefits the membership has to offer. Ever since I started driving my parents had me sign up for a AAA membership. I am not sure if they didn’t trust me, my car, or everyone else in the world. For over 20 years now I have been a loyal AAA member, but it was only the last few years that I uncovered that AAA offers so much more than just roadside assistance. One of the most beneficial services is travel assistance with online resources, travel books, as well as in person travel coordinators.
Below I will outline not online AAA’s traditional benefits such as roadside assistance but also their lesser known services such as travel and career service benefits.
AAA Travel Assistance

When I was relocating from New Jersey to Los Angeles and decided to drive across the country with my Dad, he suggested stopping by our local AAA office to get tips on routes and attractions from a travel advisor. Not only do they have several reps per office dealing with automotive services, there are usually several travel agents at each location to aid in travel related requests.
They discussed driving routes and attractions. Tips from their own personal experiences as well as points from other customers. They also provided booklets for many different destinations.
An added bonus, they can also provide travelers insurance policies. Typically I do not obtain travel insurance for my trips but during my month-long stay in Asia I decided to purchase. Partially because I was in between health insurance at the time. Also, because I was traveling around some more remote destinations, if anything happened (even down to a more minor health concern), I wanted to make sure I was able to obtain the medical care I needed. The policy I purchased for a month barely cost me $100 dollars for several hundred thousand dollars in medical coverage, and $5 million in medical transportation.
Now since Covid, it may also be good to look into insuring a trip that is more expensive and vendors that don’t offer refundable tickets.

I just found this gem when I was on the AAA website, about to write this post. I recently started looking for new careers. While I am pretty seasoned in my profession, it is always good to have a second set of eyes on cover letters, resumes, as well as tips and tricks in an ever changing market.

The obvious one is AAA roadside assistance. I have used this service many times, from my car battery dying at a friend's house and needing it replaced to my car key (when we actually stuck keys in the ignition) breaking in half.
Some people may not be aware, AAA memberships are not only beneficial to you but to anyone whose car you are in. I had to call AAA many times for roadside assistance to come out for friends' or families' cars.
AAA also provides car rental assistance should the issue be bigger than a quick battery change or the adding of gas.

Conclusion
The long and short of it, for not even $60 a year, the basic AAA membership gives me the peace of mind that if something happens to my car or myself on the road I will be able to get immediate assistance.
If that wasn’t enough, I also get participating discounts at several venues I frequent like hotels and restaurants. If both of those weren’t enough, they provide travel agent quality assistance to plan and execute my next vacation as well as career assistance in an extremely tough market.
AAA also provides conveniences for all people. They have a mobile app for people like myself who want to quickly grab info on the go, or a customer support phone number and multiple AAA locations for people who prefer the interaction.
