When I choose where to travel, I think of where I haven’t been, where I want to go (everywhere), my budget, the most cost friendly travel destination, and so on. I do take into account opinions of people I have known who have done to my ideal location, but take advice with a grain of salt.

Providence isn't as overwhelming as NYC or DC but has a lot to keep you entertained. Newport on the other hand is a quaint, upscale coastal town filled with history and nature. From a tour of the Vanderbilt Mansion to a stroll along the cliff walk. Even with the cold weather, neither of these cities disappoint even in the colder months.

In honor of Mother's Day, I wanted to share a post honoring my Mother. In February of 2013 my family and I went to Hawaii to celebrate my Mom's birthday.

Whether you are coming down for the Miami nightlife, the Miami beaches, or you are a big fan of Miami Vice (yeah Don Johnson); there are many reasons to visit Miami, Florida and thousands of reasons that will keep you coming back for more.

The city of Tijuana is not a super large city by Mexico or the U.S. standards but it is a decent size border city in Northern Mexico. Visitors have the option of flying into the Tijuana airport, driving into Mexico or leaving their car in a parking lot in the city of San Diego and walking across the pedestrian bridge to the Baja California border town.

Each trip I plan, I need to continually remind myself to appreciate people’s opinions while taking those opinions with a grain of salt. If I didn’t, I would have missed out on the amazing opportunity to visit Bangkok, Thailand. My experience in Bangkok was nothing short of magical. From the sights and history to the food and people of Thailand, all made my experience one for the books.

In May, 2017 I took a trip from Los Angeles to Vancouver, Canada. I decided I was going to try camping out the whole way up. I would split my time between finding trails for day hikes, going for a walk on the beaches I passed, and taking classes at OrangeTheory Fitnesses along the way. I only lasted camping one night in Henry Cowell State Park.

Do you love to travel? Whether international or domestic, far off lands or local road trips. But when thinking about planning a trip do you get a sense of being overwhelmed and not knowing where to start? Do all these questions circle your brain before even opening your web browser: How do we get there? Where do we stay? What should we do? How do we stay safe and get the best bang for our buck?

The next steps in my transition was some solace time and a change of scenery. I needed to get out of Los Angeles, stat. One of my happy places is Santa Barbara.

With a little more freedom at my last job, I started focusing more on attending to my well-being as well as exploring Southern California with occasional staycations.
